"Grocery Sling": A Simple and Comfortable Means of Carrying Several Heavy Bags of Groceries at One Time

Paying the cashier at the end of one’s shopping can be difficult enough, but just as difficult can be the task of getting the bags full of groceries to one’s home.  This new product will help, it is the Grocery Sling—a bandolier-style holster or belt, the surface of which features a series of sturdy, spring-loaded hook fasteners on which a number of handled grocery bags can be easily attached. The design intent is to provide consumers with a simple and comfortable means of carrying several heavy bags of groceries at one time in a hands-free manner.  The Grocery Sling is particularly useful when climbing stairs or needing to unlock one’s door.
 
The Grocery Sling is made of heavy duty, friction-free and weather-resistant fabric such as canvas or nylon and reinforced by way of sturdy plastic. The device can be worn as a one-piece unit slipped over the head and shoulder and worn diagonally across the torso with the base of the unit resting directly above the opposite hip. A simple sliding mechanism in six or eight inch sections can adjust the unit for a customized fit and is incorporated into the design of the Grocery Sling. Televised test marketing has recently been completed indicating strong consumer interest in the Grocery Sling.
 
The Patent Pending Grocery Sling was invented by Paul Zinke of Winfield, IL who said, “Even if you have a vehicle and do not need to use public transportation, once you get home and pop the trunk, all you need to do is put on the sling and slip on the bags. You are hands-free and able to move safely and even unlock your door without having to put the bags down. This is a great benefit when the weather is nasty too. It works perfectly.”
