La Granda Bildo: New Climate Change Docu-Fiction Web Series on Patreon

By: Get News

Berlin, Germany – Javier Horacio Alvarez recently launched a Patreon page for La Granda Bildo, a new docu-fiction web series that combines a news program with a fictional reality show. It’s the story of a guy with amnesia locked in a space station on the moon with a contract that engages him to host a news program on Climate Change and keep a Bonsai Tree alive, for a year. The series premiered for free on April 22nd 2016 (Mother Earth Day) through YouTube.

“This series is designed to show the general public a dramatic representation of the epic challenge we all face today as a species,” the creator explains, “Currently, if we humans don’t react to Climate Change with personal action before It’s too late we will suffer a climate catastrophe. On a global scale, we risk our own extinction in a couple of centuries.”

The team believes that 2016 is a key year for global political action against Climate Change and Global Warming, following the multinational agreement signed by 192 countries at the COP21 meeting held in Paris on December 2015. It’s a unique opportunity to start working on the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations on September 2015 to be achieved until 2030.

The series is designed to raise massive awareness of the nature of this planetary ecological crisis, inspiring emotional commitment to embrace possible solutions. This series is a nonprofit independent production. To continue producing weekly episodes, the creator Javier Horacio Alvarez is looking for financial support through an ongoing crowdfunding campaign on the Patreon platform.

“To achieve this objective of real change, the series interviews scientists and experts, developing an exposition of social policies based on scientific facts throughout the year,” says Alvarez, “Along with this is a corresponding development of the fictional storyline, as the main character gradually changes to balance his relationship with our home planet.”

In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including exclusive early access to the next episode for $3, backstage pictures and extra footage for $5, and more! Backers can also pledge $50 to get their name in the credits of $100 to take part in a monthly Google Hangout with the team, along with all previous rewards.
