7 Miles Spirits and Premium Tequilas Both on the Upswing

North Miami Beach, Florida - May 18, 2016 - (Newswire.com)

The popularity of tequila, and in particular, premium tequila, has been rising steadily among American drinkers.  According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, tequila sales have been growing at a rate of almost 6% a year since 2002.

In fact, currently The US, and not Mexico, is tequila’s largest market, with more than half of all sales worldwide.

The Council believes that American’s renewed interest in cocktails of all sorts has in part spurred the growth in tequila sales. However, they say “the real key to tequila’s US growth has been distillers’ ability to offer a product for every budget and occasion, but the fastest growth has been in high-end and super-premium brands.”

Enter, Oleg Lazanovitch and 7 Miles Spirits. Oleg, who in 2005 brought Ruskova Real Russian Vodka to the States, knows a thing or two about capitalizing on trends, and bringing unique, high quality spirits to discriminating American drinkers.

A Match Made in Mexico

Lazanovitch recently announced the alliance with Russian based Spirtnoy Group to expand 7 Mile Spirits portfolio of brands beyond Vodkas. The relationship with Spirtnoy will have the North Miami based importer distributing a line of premium brandies and cognacs by September of 2016.

Lazanovitch, wishing to expand 7 Miles’ portfolio even further, knew he had to add a premium tequila to the mix. He found what he was looking for, at the Rio de Plata distillery on the outskirts of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The distillery, now known as Tequilas del Señor, has been family owned and operated since 1943. Tequilas del Señor, is a major tequila distiller in Mexico. Once licensed distillers for the well-known premium Patron brand, they now produce and distribute a line of premium and ultra-premium tequilas under their own name.

Lazanovitch traveled to Mexico last year to meet with Don Manuel Garcia, the General Director of Tequilas del Señor, to see how he could strike up a deal between their two companies. Lazanovitch was as impressed with the crisp fruitiness of Garcia’s tequila as he was with the beauty and surroundings of the highland distillery.

The men inked a strategic alliance, and agreed to a long term exclusivity contract which will launch 7 Miles Spirits Tequila Del Senor, an ultra-premium tequila, and Tequila Sombrero, a premium tequila. Lazanovitch is convinced that with his guidance, and with Garcia’s skills and experience as a Master Distiller, they will coax a flavor and distinction from the area’s agave that will rival, or exceed that of Patron.

Lazanovitch expects that 7 Miles Tequila Sombrero will be available summer 2016, with the launch of Tequila Del Senor before the end of the year.

Upon consummation of the deal, whether the two men toasted with tequila, vodka or both, remains a close kept company secret!

Lazanovitch continues to travel the world to strike up other such alliances, and expand the portfolio of the continually growing 7 Miles Spirits, and hopes one day to be the number one importer of quality liquors in the US.
