Long Run Financial, Ltd. Owner Is Now Authorized to Use the Certified Financial Planner CFP® Mark

Dennis Gravitt, owner and president of Long Run Financial, Ltd. has successfully completed the rigorous requirements for the Certified Financial Planner CFP®​ designation. A current holder of the AFC®, or Accredited Financial Counselor designation, Dennis realized that adding the CFP® would lend an additional layer of credibility to his business while connoting a higher level of expertise.       

In solo practice since August of 2007, Gravitt opened his doors just as the United States was entering its worst economic pull back since the great depression. Dennis admits that while the first several years weren’t easy, he’s stuck to his conviction that financial advice shouldn’t rely on the sale of a product. Gravitt says, “My fee-only practice is based on that premise.”  By opting to start an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm versus working for a brokerage house, Gravitt long ago embraced the fiduciary standard, which requires him to place the client’s interest ahead of his own. As an independent, I am able to point out the best options for clients without regard to it's impact on my relationship with a firm.  

Meanwhile, Gravitt believes that the worst of the crisis is behind us, but maintains that we continue to live in turbulent times. The present economic environment calls for continued diligence on the part of savers and consumers. This means knowing your options and making financial decisions accordingly. With his business surviving ‘the mother of all recessions’; Dennis Gravitt says he’s learned a thing or two about financial planning and investment management. And, the CFP® professional competency standards, which include education, ethics, experience, and testing, will provide additional assurances that Gravitt is able to serve folk’s financial concerns.
