S2 Games Announces Their Next Game Savage Resurrection

S2 Games is proud to announce the development of Savage Resurrection as well as its recent release on Steam’s Early Access program.  Savage Resurrection is a faithful recreation of the studio’s inaugural title Savage: The Battle for Newerth. The original game was an award winning, 2004 Independent Game of the Year and is still boasts an active community. Savage Resurrection has been recreated in the Unreal 4 Engine and boasts beautiful visuals and unique, skillful, multiplayer game play.

Savage Resurrection is a unique, highly addictive blend of RTS and FPS game elements. 2 teams of 12 players each, one comprised of humans and the other of beastly humanoids, fight for supremacy.  Each match starts the same but begins to quickly differ as many options of a technology tree are pursued by the construction of buildings and researching of units, weapons, and technologies.

Most players participate in an action oriented role “on the ground” firing ranged weaponry, engaging in hand to hand combat while a single player on each team is charged with the role of a commander. The commander plays a more traditional RTS role, mining resources, building structures, researching technologies and strategizing the overall plan for the team. It is this unique mix that offers an experience so engaging that the original is still played to this day.

We really pushed the envelope with a multiplayer only experience. Nevertheless, the game was a great success. Today, the market is even better positioned to enjoy what Savage brings to the table; a skillful, addictive, hardcore multiplayer experience like none other.”

With Savage Resurrection, S2 plans to offer many updates during the EA product cycle, improving performance, visuals, and the addition of content prior to an official release sometime later this summer. The game is available for a one time purchase and offers cosmetic only upgrades through full Steam Marketplace integration.
