La Femme International Film Festival Alumni Secure Lucrative Distribution Deals

Adding to the successful twelve year history of alumni's screening at the LA Femme International Film Festival (LAFIFF), two more filmmakers secure distribution deals. "The Morning After" Written, Directed, DP, Produced by Shanra Kehl, and "The Scarapist"™ Written, Directed and Produced by Jeanne Marie Spicuzza land deals after LAFIFF festival screening in Beverly Hills.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - May 31, 2016 - PRLog -- The LA Femme International Film Festival (LAFIFF) announces that "The Morning After," Written, Directed, DP, Produced by Shanra Kehl, the 2015 winner of the Best Feature Producer at LA Femme Film International Festival, just cut a sales deal with Princ Films (http://princfilms.com/) who sold the film to the Germany film going audiences and HBO Europe. "The Morning After" was screened at Cannes on May 11 and 13 at the Palais and Gray Screens to standing room only crowds.

Shanra J. Kehl graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in Cinematography. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for cinematography. She Co-Wrote, Produced, and Directed a short called "Manscaping", which was screened at La Femme in 2009. "The Morning After" is her first feature which has won over a dozen awards worldwide.

"The Morning After" follows eight vulnerable individuals whose insecurities are put to the test when they wake up next to someone new or familiar having to decide if they stay or do they go. The cast includes: Michelle Lombardo, Vanessa Evigan, and Cameron Jebo. Director, Writer Shanra J. Kehl, Producers Robert Shapiro, Shanra J. Kehl, Shelley Curtis Litvack and Helen Vonderheide were the creative team behind the feature.

"The Scarapist,"™ Written, Directed and Produced by Jeanne Marie Spicuzza, screened and premiered at the LA Femme International Film Festival in 2015 and following the festival landed a limited release in Landmark Theatres. The Producers are currently negotiating a VOD and DVD release of the film. It has recently screened at 2016 Berlinale International Film Festival (BIFF), European Film Market (EFM) which is part of the Berlin International Film Festival and was presented the Verein Deutscher Kritiker Und Filmemacher (VDKUF) Award. VDKUF is an association which is comprised of German critics and filmmakers headed by Thomas Avner.

Jeanne Marie Spicuzza contributes her success with the LA Femme International Film Festival who premiered the film. "The Scarapist"™ is about an insane therapist who entangles a suburban novelist in a web of hypnosis, drugs, kidnapping, depravity and murder and is based on a true story. The film features the following cast: Jeanne Marie Spicuzza and R. Michael Gull. Director, Writer, Producer Jeanne Marie Spicuzza and Producers David Spicuzza, Marjorie Spicuzza and Shari Hamrick bring this feature to screen.

Jeanne Marie Spicuzza is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, actress, performance artist and herbalist. The founder and CEO of Seasons & a Muse, Inc., Jeanne Marie is published in Shepherd Express, Poetry Motel, Poetic Diversity, Quill & Parchment, Blue Fifth Review, A Gathering of Tribes and others. Jeanne Marie trained at The Groundlings Theatre and School, the Theatre Royal Haymarket, and with top acting instructors like Diane Salinger, Ivana Chubbuck and Marjorie Ballentine.

She spent seven years researching and three years writing her first screenplay, "Breath of God." Jeanne Marie completed short film "Field Day" and the award-winning motion picture "The Scarapist." She is currently in development of her second feature, "Night Rain".

Her films have screened at festivals like LA Femme Film Festival, Weyauwega International Film Festival, and Wisconsin and Portobello Film Festivals, and markets like Berlinale European Film Market, and EFM, worldwide.

LA Femme is a four-day festival that screens more than 100 films and hosts special screenings, seminars, and networking mixers. The 2016 festival is the 12th season launching October 20-23, 2016 at the Laemmle Theatres in Beverly Hills on Wilshire Blvd., with amazing seminars sponsored by SAG-AFTRA, WGA West, The Governor's Office of Film and Entertainment State of Florida, and Columbia College Hollywood.
