S2C Global Systems Expands Into Africa's Bottled Water Market
S2C Global Systems (OTCBB: STWG), (http://www.s2cglobal.com) designer and developer of the "S2C Aquaduct" commercial vending system that delivers pre-packaged, 5-gallon bottled water from the bottling plant to the consumer, announces the signing of a Letter of Intent with AVC Canada Corporation. This LOI will lay the groundwork for a formal Joint Venture Agreement regarding distribution and marketing of the Company's products in Angola, commencing with the capital city of Luanda.
It is anticipated that the formal agreement will be finalized before the end of 2007. The S2C/AVC Joint Venture anticipates a rather aggressive schedule to meet demand in Luanda by installing a total of 160 S2C Aquaducts in the city over a 24 month period, commencing in the 2nd quarter of 2008.
Luanda is the largest city in, and capital of, Angola which is geographically located in south western Africa. Luanda has a population of approximately 5.0 million. Angola, sub-Saharan Africa's second largest oil producer after Nigeria, is currently in the middle of a multibillion-dollar reconstruction boom fuelled by record high oil windfalls.
The Angolan Government has been developing several water projects countrywide with a view to securing potable water to every citizen in Luanda. "The goal is to make water available to every citizen as near as possible to their homes," stressed Rui Tito, Deputy Minister of Water and Energy, adding "that for the time being it is not possible to get drinking water in desired quantities all over the country."
Agua Cuilo Ltd., operated by AVC Canada, is Angola's largest bottled water facility consisting of a brand new 85,000 sq. ft. plant located in Luanda that will use the most advanced technology in the bottled water industry. AVC's plans include an initial fleet of 6 trucks outfitted with S2C's in-truck system, distributing 14,400 bottles of quality drinking water to a market of over 5 million people per day, with plans to expand to Angola's neighboring countries within the free trade market of the SADC region.
"We're extremely optimistic and excited about this joint venture and the ultimate launch of our product in Angola," says Rod Bartlett, President and CEO, S2C Global Systems, Inc. "AVC Canada has tremendous experience in developing and successfully operating bottled water businesses in Africa, and we look forward to a long, prosperous relationship."
"In Angola, affordable drinking water is not just a business venture, but a public health issue," states Afonso Vicente, President & Chairman of AVC Canada. "AVC takes its role as a humanitarian leader as seriously as its business and economic responsibilities, as such we are pleased to be involved with S2C Global Systems who shares our vision."
