UPDATE 1-America Movil profit almost halves on Mexico competition

MEXICO CITY, July 28 (Reuters) - Mexican telecoms company America Movil on Thursday reported a 45 percent drop in second-quarter net profit compared with the same period a year earlier, hit by greater competition in its home market.
