Alphabet’s Google joins rival Facebook in mobile-ad surge

One day after Facebook’s barn-burner of a second quarter, Alphabet Inc.’s Google business also reported a big boost in mobile ads and relieved investors who were nervous that Facebook may be taking a big chunk of share away from the Internet ad giant.
