Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Mary I. Collins as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Mary I. Collins will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.

Collins, CFO/CIO of Commercial Design Systems, Inc., has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Mary I. Collins will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.

Starting her career part-time as a bookkeeper and successfully working her way up to CFO, Mary I. Collins took on many challenges to get where she is today. The more she learned about the financial and technological aspects of the business, the better off she was, and to this day she continues to take courses in her field to stay ahead in the industry.

In Collin's current role as CFO/CIO, she maintains all financial records for the company and helps create an expanding financial structure for growth and sustainability, while forging ahead into a much larger future.

"Numbers appeal to me and the changes using technology have made it so much easier," Collins said. "The whole process is now so much more involved, yet much quicker. I'm so happy to be part of the future of finance and especially for my current employer who is evolving every year."

Currently, the company is expanding across the country, and Collin's is grateful to have the opportunity to help foster that growth. Active as a member of American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, she is also working on publishing many training manuals and systems she has created for various companies she has worked for in the past. She's studied business management and computer technology at her local state university, and since moved on to their MBA program. She's also taken various courses in programming languages, management skills, professional training techniques, new accounting regulations, human resource legalities, and risk management.

"I've been working for 40 years and I love my career and the company I work for today," Collins added. "In my mind, I have a very successful life."
