RED BANK, N.J. - Nov. 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Deana Martin, daughter of the late Rat-Pack Icon Dean Martin, will join Donny Most, best known as Ralph Malph on the Happy Days TV series, to headline the 10th annual Sinatra Birthday Bash on Sunday, December 4 — presented by Jazz Arts Project — at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. Celebrity guest stars Martin and Most will lend their voices for this gala fundraiser, along with a cast of specially-selected tribute singers, accompanied by the acclaimed 28-piece Red Bank Jazz Orchestra.
When Martin, daughter of the late Dean Martin, appeared at the State Theatre in Easton, PA, in 2014, the Morning Call's Steve Siegel wrote that she "brought elegance and freshness to such standards as 'The Lady is a Tramp', made 'That's Life' all her own . . . and strutted through the audience for a lusty sing-along to 'That's Amore'."
When Huffington Post celebrity/entertainment columnist Pat Gallagher saw Donny Most perform at McLoone's Supper Club in Asbury Park this past July, she wondered why Most hadn't come out singing when the TV series Happy Days ended in 1984. She asked Most that question in a July 22nd interview. His response: "The kind of music I'm doing — the jazz standards, songs from the Great American Songbook and swing — was not as much in favor as it is today . . . That changed when singers like Harry Connick, Jr. and Michael Buble came on the scene, along with Tony Bennett on MTV."
A production of the non-profit organization Jazz Arts Project, the Sinatra Birthday Bash takes place each year on or around Frank Sinatra's birthday in December as a tribute performance and celebration of the life and artistry of this American icon. Under the musical direction of Red Bank's own Joe Muccioli, who Jazzwise Magazine says works with "a maximum of authenticity," the cast sings the great songs of the American Songbook and many of the tunes associated with Sinatra during his long career. The Sinatra tribute singers will include Zack Alexander, Marcus Goldhaber, Kathy Graham, Steve Kazlauskas, and Jerry Pearce, rounding out an unforgettable evening that has been an audience favorite each year for the past decade.
The Sinatra Birthday Bash is not a costume and wig show, but a sincere, respectful tribute in music and song to one of New Jersey's favorite and most famous sons.
