Gemma Power Systems Celebrates Commissioning for Panda Patriot Generating Station

The power plant, located in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, is an 829 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle facility that was completed in June. Since then, it has been providing clean, reliable electric power to more than a million electric customers. Panda Patriot, and its sister plant, the Panda Liberty Generating Station, are the first such plants to be developed specifically to take advantage of the Marcellus Shale Gas formation.

Gemma Power Systems, LLC through a joint venture with The Lane Construction Corporation, was the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contractor for the project.

The Patriot and Liberty facilities are the first United States installations of the Siemens H-class combustion turbines in single-shaft configuration. The single shaft power train design makes the plant among the most flexible and efficient natural gas fired generating plants in the Unites States.
