The Israel Tennis Centers Foundation is set for a big day tomorrow in support of #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to philanthropy and giving. Organizations around the world like the ITC are taking part in this extraordinary effort that culminates on Tuesday, November 29. Although #GivingTuesday was first introduced in 2012, its roots harken back to ancient times.

Performing Mitzvot (good deeds) and Tzedakah (charitable giving) are central to the greater concept of Tikkun Olam, the idea that we bear responsibility not only for our own moral, spiritual, and material welfare, but for the welfare of the world at-large!  On #GivingTuesday, the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation offers the opportunity to fulfill each of these ideals and create a better world!

Since 1947 when the State of Israel came into existence, the economic growth and development has been truly miraculous!  However, what many people do not know is that significant poverty also exists, leaving too many children and their families far behind!  In fact, one out of every three children in Israel lives below the poverty line. Fortunately, the Israel Tennis Centers provides programs and services that enable these children to catch-up and succeed!

The theme for ITC’s #GivingTuesday is “One Day – One Child… When You Save a Life, You Save the Entire World!” Visit our special Giving Tuesday section by clicking www.itcgivingtuesday.causevox.com to learn more about how you can support the ITC’s #GivingTuesday campaign.

About the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation:

For 40 years, the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation (ITC), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, has worked tirelessly through the medium of sport to enhance the development of Israeli youth. Since opening its first center in Ramat Hasharon in 1976, the ITC has helped over a half million children, many of whom come from outlying and underserved towns throughout Israel. The ITC’s 14 centers stretch from Kiryat Shmona on the Lebanese border in the North to Beer Sheva bordering the Negev Desert in the South.
