Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Cecy Rimando Groom as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Cecy Rimando Groom will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine in 2017.

CERRITOS, CA, January 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cecy Rimando Groom, Certified Public Accountant and Founder of Groom Accountancy Corp., has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Cecy Rimando Groom will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine in 2017.

Beginning her career as an Accounting Technician at the US Naval Base (Subic Bay in the Philippines), Cecy Rimando eventually came to the US on a professional visa as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and began working as a Controller for a private firm in Los Angeles, California.

"My knowledge as a CPA, coupled with my work experience as a management analyst, enabled me to save this firm from financial bankruptcy and I earned recognition of the Board of Directors who then sent me to John Robert Powers finishing school to enhance my public speaking skills," Groom said about how it all began for her. "From there I became an entrepreneur of El Pollo Loco and a franchise owner for Sizzler's and IHOP restaurants."

Today, Groom is the proud Founder of Groom Accountancy Corp., which she established in 2003 and conveniently located in Cerritos, Long Beach, California. Specializing in tax controversies, tax preparation business, individual business consulting, medical and professional consulting, creating corporate structuring, and credentialing required for professional compliance, particularly in the medical field, Groom credits her years of integrity, hard work, and continued education for the business's success.

Groom holds a BA in Accounting from the University of the East in the Philippines since 1966 and attended South Bay University School of Law in 1992. She spent time teaching at St. Columban College, a private university, as an Accounting Instructor, holds her CPA license in both the US and the Philippines through the California Board of Accountancy since 1983, is Co-Founder of The Philippine American Society of CPAs of Los Angeles, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016, is a current Charter Member of Su Casa Foundation, a charity organization for women, and previously spent 20 years on the Governing Board of Education for ABC Unified School District, from 1987-2007.
