UPDATE 1-BlackRock hires former UK finance minister Osborne as adviser

LONDON, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Former British finance minister George Osborne, who lost his job in July in the aftermath of Britain's vote to leave the European Union, will join BlackRock Inc. as an adviser next month, the asset manager said on Friday.
