Stocks surged for a second day as the market put geopolitical fears behind it and focused on earnings and the potential for tax cuts . The S&P 500 rose 0.6% to 2,388.61 today, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 232.23 points, or 1.1%, to 20,996.12. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.7% to 6,025.49.
