Andy Rubin's smartphone startup partners with Amazon, Best Buy for launch

His Palo Alto startup disclosed that Amazon and Chinese tech giant Tencent were the big names in its $300 million funding this summer as it gets set to launch its smartphone against new devices from Apple and Samsung this fall.
