Ronald T. Russell Has Been Recognized as One of the Top in His Industry by the Expert Network©

"My father was still going to the office every day at the age of ninety-six. He encouraged me and has always served a real example of professionalism for me."

Mr. Russell gained exposure to legal matters surrounding business and professionals from early on in his career. He spent more than four years as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board where he dealt with collective bargaining and investigated unfair labor practices. Mr. Russell later spent eight years as an administrative judge with the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission. He credits this period of his career with developing his superior ability to adjudicate cases while maintaining a calm demeanor in the face of difficulties.

As a thought-leader in his field, Mr. Russell is uniquely positioned to identify emerging trends in workers' compensation. Sometimes, this can be as simple as having a sense of how the courts will behave. In this way, Mr. Russell can read the legal landscape to craft a case that is just right for the client. He explains:

"The pendulum has swung back and forth for the past thirty years. We go through periods where it's more plaintiff oriented and then other periods where it's more defense oriented. I think it's been thought of defense oriented here for a while. But I think that's starting to swing back in the other direction and move more towards the middle."
