Matthew B. F. Biren Has Been Recognized as One of the Top in His Industry by the Expert Network©

Matthew B.F. With more than 40 years dedicated to law, Mr. Biren brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular to his area of specialization, personal injury law with an emphasis on brain, spine, burn, serious orthopedic, and other catastrophic injuries or wrongful death claims. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in this specialty, Mr. Biren said:

"When I was in law school, I got a job working for a firm that represented labor unions and injured workers. I worked primarily as a labor lawyer during the first years, which was a wonderful experience because I was in trial virtually every week—tremendous skills building experience. Then after there were changes in the firm, I switched to representing seriously injured workers and other people in personal injury cases. This was a natural progression for me, as I felt that my work as a lawyer would be more meaningful and impactful if I not only could help folks whose lives had been devastated as a result of other's wrongdoing, but also change conduct by making people and businesses realize that if they acted unsafely and injured people, there was a price to pay."

Today, as the head of the Biren Law Firm, Mr. Biren leads a team of three other attorneys and two paralegals who together have lived up to his long-held mission to make sure that every injured client of the firm has the ability to obtain justice by having lawyers able to take on the insurance companies and corporations that would otherwise steamroll them. Covering a broad range of catastrophic personal injuries—from auto and truck accidents, premises accidents, and industrial accidents to products liability—the firm has won numerous million and multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts that now total more than $500 million.

As a thought-leader in his field, Mr. Biren is dedicating to mentoring the next generation of attorneys. He has held frequent speaking engagements throughout his career and currently sits on the Board of Advisors for his alma mater, Loyola Law School, where he offers young lawyers and lawyers-to-be the benefit of his decades of experience.
