Opponents push fight as Trump’s NM national monument decision looms

If some national moments are protected, New Mexico's should be too. That is the latest argument by New Mexicans advocacy groups, who are asking Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to recommend no modifications to Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks or Río Grande del Norte national monuments. Zinke is expected to have his recommendations on New Mexico's monuments to President Trump by August 24.
