Charlotte’s future unknown as base for UTC’s aerospace unit after $30B deal

UTC Aerospace Systems President David Gitlin, who is based in Charlotte, will be named president of Collins Aerospace Systems, with popular Rockwell Collins CEO Kelly Ortberg as chief executive of the new unit. Ortberg is now based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the home to Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL).
