Nebraska.gov Wins Web Marketing Standard of Excellence Award

The Nebraska State Website is proud to accept the Government Standard of Excellence Award from the Web Marketing Association.

The Web Marketing Association is the producer of the WebAward Competition. Now in its 17th year, it’s the longest running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development. Nebraska.gov is the go-to location for government online services for both Nebraska citizens and businesses. Year to date, the website records 1,035,247 pageviews with 723,630 unique pageviews reflecting the value of the portal when users are seeking to connect to their government agency, contact, or online mobile-responsive service. Analytics show that users range from 18-65+ years of age primarily using a PC, with ever increasing adoption on the mobile platform.

“We appreciate the recognition,” noted Brent Hoffman, GM of Nebraska Interactive. “Our team focuses on the user and knows we need to deliver content quickly and easily. We’re excited to know that we set the bar for Standard of Excellence on government websites. Especially appreciated is a comment by one judge who mentioned, ‘I've never actually considered visiting Nebraska until seeing this site... good job!’"

The Web Marketing Association judges each site by utilizing between two and five judges on seven different criteria, earning a score between 0 and 70 points. The average of the two highest scores serves as the entry's final score. The highest score in a given category wins Best of Industry for that category. If the remaining entries received a score of 60 or greater, they received the Outstanding Website award. If the site score is below 60, but equal to or higher than the average score for the industry, it will receive the Standard of Excellence WebAward.
