McBee Health Care Consulting and Clinical Leadership Present on Pre-Claim Review and Evidence-Based Best Practice Topics at NAHC Home Care and Hospice Conference

McBee health care consulting and clinical leadership will present during educational sessions focusing on hospice pre-claim review and evidence-based best practices in home health at the NAHC Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo. The conference will be held Oct. 15-17 in Long Beach, California.

Michelle Stone-Smith, Consulting Senior Manager, will present “Hospice Pre-Claim Review” on Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. This session will focus on common hospice payment threats and documentation compliance risks, including election statements, general inpatient care documentation, notices of election, physician certifications and supporting documentation. Strategies for mitigating risks by leveraging the use of technology to more effectively monitor documentation processes will be examined, along with tactics for conducting proactive compliance audits.

Stone-Smith will present with M. Aaron Little, CPA, Managing Director, BKD, LLP.

In addition, Laurie Salmons, RN, BSN, Clinical Consulting Manager, will present “Evidence-Based Practice in Home Health and Hospice” on Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Evidence-based practice (EBP) conditions caregivers to be more consistent from patient to patient, improving quality scores and patient satisfaction. This session will define EBP and integrating this method into practice.

Salmons will present with Andrea Calhoun, RN, BSN, Clinical Director, Vanderbilt Health Services, LLC.
