International Supply Chain Professionals Assemble for APICS 2017

APICS 2017, the premier event for supply chain, logistics and operations management professionals, will take place October 15 – 17 in San Antonio, Texas. John Mackey, Co-Founder & CEO of Whole Foods Market
John Mackey has led Whole Foods Market to a $14 billion Fortune 500 company with more than 410 stores and 88,000 team members in three countries. Derreck Kayongo, Founder of the Global Soap Project and CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights
Derreck Kayongo and his family fled a civil war in Uganda and settled in the U.S. when Kayongo was just ten years old. Now a successful entrepreneur, Kayongo is a renowned expert in environmental sustainability and global health. Kayongo is the founder of the Global Soap Project: a program which takes donated, melted, purified and reprocessed hotel soap and redistributes it to vulnerable populations around the world. In creating this global humanitarian initiative, Kayongo has demonstrated that a simple, yet novel idea has the power to transform the lives of millions. Recognized as a CNN Hero, Kayongo’s passion for helping others and commitment to innovative thinking earned him his current role as CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Kayongo believes in the spirit of entrepreneurialism and creative problem-solving, and inspires audiences to dream big as he shares his vision for harnessing the power of observation to identify issues and solve challenges in any community or organization.

Women in Supply Chain Forum

APICS 2017 attendees can be an essential part of APICS’s efforts to attract, promote, and retain women in supply chain by joining the inaugural Women in Supply Chain Forum, held Tuesday, October 17 in conjunction with the main conference.
