Patrick N. In 2006, he enrolled at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and worked at the District Attorney's Office for the whole of his third year in school. After earning his Juris Doctor in 2009, Mr. Bergt returned to his home state of Alaska and accepted a position as an assistant District Attorney, during which time he tried more than twenty cases to verdict in a variety of matters such as violent, drug, and white collar crimes. In 2017, Mr. Bergt joined Guess & Rudd.

Named to the Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award in 2016 by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorney, Mr. Bergt brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and, in particular, to his area of specialization, insurance defense claims including those involving personal injury, property damage, professional malpractice, and employment law matters, as well as white collar criminal defense. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in the law, Mr. Bergt said:

"I chose law because I knew it would give me a diverse range of career options. I liked the idea that I could work as a prosecutor for a few years and then transition into private practice using the skills I learned while trying cases for the state. For example, since becoming licensed, I have had the opportunity to prosecute robbery and assault cases one year, and the next year, to work as plaintiff's counsel in a multi-million dollar airplane accident. I like that lawyers can practice law by helping clients plan to avoid problems, by solving problems once they develop, by representing and counseling businesses in a particular industry, by representing individuals sharing a common status or problem and by appearing (or not appearing) in court."

Mr. Bergt attributes his success to his extensive training and the skills developed in his past positions. An exceptional trial attorney with an in-depth understanding of the complexities of state and federal jurisdictions in Alaska, he has the resources necessary to aggressively protect his clients’ interests and rights. In addition, he is proficient in determining the settlement value of many different types of claims and is prepared to go to trial no matter how difficult the case.

Outside of the office, Mr. Bergt enjoys spending his time outdoors with his wife, Lindsay, and daughter, Ella. Living in the beautiful state of Alaska, he is lucky enough to experience much of what nature has to offer, with a particular fondness of skiing and fishing.
