Waste Management Announces the Redemption of Senior Notes Due in 2018

Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE:WM) announced today that it will redeem the entire outstanding principal amount of its 6.10% Senior Notes due 2018 (the “Notes”). The redemption date for the Notes is November 30, 2017. The aggregate principal amount of the Notes outstanding is $590 million. The redemption price for the Notes will include accrued and unpaid interest on the Notes up to the redemption date and a make-whole premium, which will be calculated three business days prior to the redemption date in accordance with the terms of the Notes and related indenture. Waste Management plans to use proceeds from its previously announced issuance of $750 million 3.150% Senior Notes due 2027, which is scheduled to close on November 8, 2017, to fund the redemption of the Notes.

Notices of redemption are being sent to all currently registered holders of the Notes by the Trustee, The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A.
