Reduxio Systems, the innovation leader in unified data storage management and protection solutions for the enterprise, announced today that it was included in two recent Gartner Hype Cycle Reports: Hype Cycle for Storage Technologies, 20171; Hype Cycle for Business Continuity Management and IT Resilience, 20172. In these respective reports, Gartner categorized Reduxio as a vendor in the Continuous Data Protection (CDP) segment, for both storage-related hardware and software technologies as well as for business continuity management and IT resilience solutions.
According to the Gartner, Inc. in the Hype Cycle for Storage Technologies, 2017 (July 2017) report, “Continuous data protection (CDP) is an approach to recovery that continuously, or nearly continuously, captures and transmits changes to applications, files or blocks of data while journaling these changes.”
“CDP can dramatically change the way data is protected, decreasing backup and recovery times, as well as reducing the amount of lost data, and can provide additional recovery points. Compared to traditional backup, which typically captures data only once a day, the amount of data lost in a restore situation can be nearly 24 hours for backup versus minutes or a few hours with CDP,” notes Gartner, Inc. in Hype Cycle for Business Continuity and IT Resilience Technologies, 2017 (August, 2017).
According to the report, the benefit rating of CDP is High and CDP can be an effective countermeasure against ransomware. Reduxio is listed as a sample vendor in this Gartner Research report.
“Businesses continue to strive to minimize RPO and improve recovery times (RTO), but in reality, very few organizations are able to do this. Achieving such an environment usually requires a very complex infrastructure and a highly disciplined and sustained orchestration of technological components and processes which creates overly complex IT environments,’” said Mike Grandinetti, Reduxio’s chief marketing & corporate strategy officer. “At Reduxio, we, along with several leading industry analysts, believe that integrated secondary storage and data protection built into a Primary Storage Platform can address these challenges, and can help drive technological and economic benefits for organizations. With that in mind, we’ve built a down-to-the-second data continuous data protection (CDP) solution that eliminates the need to schedule snapshots and allows data to be consistent across volumes.”
Based on the patented TimeOS™ storage operating system, Reduxio provides breakthrough storage efficiency and performance, and the unique ability to recover data to any second, far exceeding anything available on the market today. Reduxio's unified storage platform is designed to deliver near-zero RPO and RTO as a feature of its storage system, while significantly simplifying the data protection process and providing built-in data replication for disaster recovery.
