Not too many people know that Sir Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was also a prolific painter. He pursued painting as a hobby after he left government in 1955 and continued painting for many years with a collection of over 500 works.

Before assuming the directorship of the National Churchill Museum in 2016, Tim served as curator for the acclaimed "Paintings of Sir Winston Churchill" exhibition in St. Louis.

He brings more than 20 years museum management and education leadership to his post, serving as the Executive Director of the La Crosse Public Education Foundation, Executive Director at The Trout Museum of Art, and as a development director at his alma mater, Lawrence University. Previously Tim was an educator and curatorial assistant at The Metropolitan Museum of Art at The Cloisters in New York City.

In his role at Westminster, Riley directs all aspects of the National Churchill Museum including planning and curating exhibitions in Fulton and throughout the country. He is the author of several articles about art, music, and Winston Churchill.
