Congress demands Silicon Valley giants explain why they kept massive chip flaws secret for so long

The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee sent letters this week to the CEOs of seven technology giants asking why the group decided to keep the chip vulnerabilities Spectre and Meltdown a secret for over six months, saying Silicon Valley’s traditional way of dealing with cybersecurity threats could be outdated.
