Pound turns lower after report EU rejects post-Brexit free-trade deal for banks

The pound erased its early Wednesday gain and turned lower in mid-morning trade after Reuters reported that the European Union has rejected the City of London’s proposal for financial institutions to retain passporting rights after Brexit.
