Evidence Technology Magazine published an article titled "Spherical Image Capture for Crime & Crash Scenes" in its Spring 2018 issue.
VICTOR, N.Y. - Feb. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- L-Tron Corporation is pleased to announce that its OSCR360 equipment is featured in Evidence Technology Magazine's Spring 2018 issue. OSCR360 was created from the voice of law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys, to capture and present a fair and accurate representation of crime and crash scenes.

Authored by L-Tron's Hank Kula, a retired police sergeant and New York State certified crime scene technician, crash reconstructionist and instructor, the article outlines the pain points officers face at crime and crash scenes, several ways OSCR360 has positively impacted investigations and trials, and practical advice from current users.

Go back – back to the scene, right in the middle of it – over and over again. Virtually bring other cops into your scene without trampling evidence. Zoom in on details. Let a judge see exactly why you need that warrant. Refresh a victim's memory or put a witness back at the scene.

More than just a camera, OSCR360 is a spherical imaging solution that includes two components: the capture kit and the presentation software. The capture kit takes 360-degree spherical images at the scene in minutes, then automatically transfers them for viewing on the OSCR tablet. A unique feature of the camera's design allows crime scene technicians to easily photograph cramped spaces, providing a true view of bathrooms, closets, and the driver's seat of a vehicle involved in a crash. The presentation software was developed by L-Tron to provide a virtual tour of the crime/crash scene. The 360-degree photos serve as the container for other multi-media evidence files, including DSLR images, documents, video footage, or sound files. Investigators, DAs, judges and juries can virtually walk through a room, home, park – or even travel through multiple towns using the OSCR presentation software that ties multiple pieces of evidence together, like connecting the dots. To date, OSCR360 has been used in death investigations and homicide cases across New York State, and accepted in grand juries and at trial, including the 2017 high-profile Craig Rideout murder trial in Rochester, NY.
