EU opens in-depth investigation of Linde, Praxair merger

BRUSSELS, Feb 16 (Reuters) - The European Commission on Friday said it had opened an in-depth investigation into the proposed $85 billion merger of industrial gases groups Linde and Praxair, saying it feared reduced competition for some crucial gases.
