What caused it? “It was a surprise to us to learn that KCMA & Services aka Knuckles Custom Motorcycle Accessories has relocated to Waterloo, Indiana, where it is now preparing to offer a sweet treats product line such as maple syrup. What caused it? You might already know the business has initially been offering a custom motorcycle accessory production aka knucklewarmers. Later, the owner, Brian Walker added an education line to the business: welding and airbrush classes. Then he started to offer a consulting to businesses around welding.
KCMA and Services established in 2012 in WA. In 2017 Mr. Walker moved his business to Waterloo, Indiana. He moved there because of his family and old friends, and he wanted to start a new line in his company.
This new line revolved around maple syrup production, and offering other sweet treats for customers in the local area.
Brian said: “I grew up on a farm and it was a time to go back to nature and get a chance to spend more time with my family. The lifestyle I was brought in Indiana was attracting me too.”
He added: “It is easier to be a business owner in Indiana state rather Washington for tax reasons.” We all know Establishing a business in a new place is not easy. But when you have a good character, you can get help from friends and family to support you.”
Mr. Walker learned from his personal experience about gathering maple sap and making maple syrup. He knows the old ways of production, and he has many years experience making maple syrup production with his family.
Brian Walker decided to keep true to some of the tried and tested steps that experience had taught him. In addition to this, he is adding new modern techniques allowing him to get more maple sap from the same trees.
As the business was establishing and supplies were being purchased Brian kept working in the woods of friends and family where the maple sap is being gathered. His goal is to have 1500 taps for a 2018 year.
