Some crunchy facts for National Potato Chip Day

The humble potato chip got its start in 1853 in Saratoga, New York, when a customer complained about George Crum's soggy potatoes. A bit ticked off, the cook sliced up some of the tubby tubers and tossed them into a vat of hot oil. Thus started the love affair.
