Congress’s spending deal has a small victory for gun violence research

For years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has interpreted a law, called the Dickey Amendment, as a ban on studying gun violence. Congress's new budget deal clarifies that they can, in fact, conduct such research, The Verge reports.
