Elgin, Apr 13, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Elgin based nonprofit Administer Justice and Prosper America, a nonprofit based in St. Charles, have partnered to offer free financial literacy counseling to area residents. Through this service, individuals meet one-on-one with a trained volunteer counselor to identify opportunities to improve their financial position, create a manageable household budget, develop a strategy to pay down debt and improve their financial knowledge. The service is offered in both English and Spanish. Participants meet with a financial counselor at the Administer Justice office in Elgin and are provided free access to the Prosper America online learning lab. We are very excited about our partnership with Administer Justice and our shared goal of bringing financial literacy to those in need in our community, said Steve Shambora, founder of Prosper America.
Administer Justice offers free legal assistance, financial counseling, legal education and conflict coaching. Founded in 2,000, the organization serves thousands of low income families each year addressing various legal and other issues that impact family stability. Prosper America provides financial education solutions to create knowledgeable and empowered financial consumers. Both charities operate independently and have partnered together to provide the local community with the tools they need to improve their financial future.
