New 2018 Garden Furniture Range Launched

Spring is on its way, which means summer is to follow, longer days, warmer weather and the chance to get out and enjoy the great outdoors a bit more, or at least your garden.  These days many of us are looking on our gardens as outdoor living areas where we can relax, perhaps entertain and maybe even do some work and Andrew Ellis of Poshh has some tips:

“Forget the division between home and garden”

Andrew Ellis says “For years, homes and gardens have been thought of as attached but separate and to a certain extent that’s understandable but just as many people like to bring the outdoors in, with house plants and items made from natural materials, so you can take the best of the indoors outside and literally treat your garden (or conservatory or even balcony) as an extension of your living room.  Interior design principles often apply perfectly well to gardens, although of course, you’ll need to adapt your actual choice of plants to your local environment, your weather and soil.”

“Merge indoors and out through your choice of furniture”

“Garden furniture has come a long way over the years” says Andrew Ellis, “It used to be that plastic and metal were really the only options for outdoor furniture.  They can be good options, but these days many people prefer outdoor furniture made out of natural materials.  Rattan and teak outdoor furniture is particularly popular as it is not only attractive and long-lasting, but also very environmentally-friendly and sustainable, which is becoming increasingly important to the modern customer.  Here at Poshh, what we look for is outdoor furniture which is robust enough to cope with the Great British weather, but smart enough that you’d be happy to use it indoors and, of course, functionality is a must.  This was the driving force behind new garden range of rattan and teak wood furniture for 2018, which comes with a best price guarantee, if you can find the same for less, we’ll give you an extra 20% off.

“Never underestimate the importance of the right seating”

“If you think about indoors,” Andrew Ellis continues, “you almost certainly have different kinds of seats for different purposes.  A cosy armchair is great for relaxing and reading but not necessarily for eating, whereas a dining chair might be perfect for eating a meal at a table but not for curling up in front of the TV.  Outdoor seating is just the same and you may find that you’re best to have a mix of different types of seating for different purposes.  Of course, if you have the space, daybeds and loungers are the ultimate in outdoor luxury and being in one is a wonderful way to spend time outside when the weather is fine.”

“A good outdoor table is a great investment”

“As with seating,” Andrew Ellis goes on “you have different tables for different purposes and if you have space and budget you might have different kinds of table too, but if you can only have one then it’s important to think about how you’re going to use it.  Picnic tables probably offer the greatest versatility for the space they occupy because you can use them not just for eating but for outdoor play (for grown-ups as well as children) or proper work.  Bistro tables are a good option for when space is tight, they are great for enjoying light meals and have enough space to be useful for other purposes, whether it’s holding a drink and your next book or using your laptop.

“Heating can extend the usefulness of your outdoor space”

“If you like to cook outdoors”, says Andrew Ellis, “think about locating your cooking area so it can also double as a heating area.  Firebowls and chimneas in particular are not only great ways to cook but also give off useful heat and look very attractive too.  Alternatively you could invest in an outdoor heater.  Either of these options (or both together) can help you to keep enjoying your outdoor space, even when temperatures drop.  With the right heating, you can really make the most of your garden space all year round, even in winter, when there can be some days when it’s absolutely wonderful to be outdoors – as long as you’re protected against the cold.
