TriCoast Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Florida Film House’s urban, street film, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is now streaming on VOD platforms. Directed by Blademil Grullon (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Fade Away’), ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is a current day West Side Story meets “Romeo & Juliet” love story, reflecting the longtime cultural conflict between the Haitian culture and Dominican culture.

Capturing the rough, violent turning point of the Miami streets, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ shows the cultural divide between Haitians and Dominicans, who have has crossed the Caribbean. This provocative tale follows Miami teens – the artistic, yet violent, bad-boy ‘Sandy’ (Miguel “Fuego” Duran) and smart, good-girl ‘Flo’ (Lexi Delarosa) – who are forced to balance their ethnic loyalties against their personal and romantic aspirations. A tough and gritty tale, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ begins with Miami’s top dog, Patrick (Paul Antoine) who roughs-it-out with Felipe (Mitch Lemos), for full authority of the Miami street drug markets. The feud only intensifies once Patrick’s younger sister, Flo, and Felipe’s nephew, Sandy, fall into young love.

The streets of Miami have become a battlefield between their families, their cultural differences of Haitian and Dominican are working against them – Will Sandy and Flo finally find love? Or will it result in an intense climax similar to “Romeo & Juliet”?

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is the first-ever film to be released as a national theatrical with the collaboration of Haitians and Dominican. The film features several Miami-born and now residents artists, including its score by Haitian Actor / Composer / Soundtrack artist, Wyclef Jean, and its soundtrack with Cuban American sensation, Armando “Pitbull” Perez, as well as the lead of Sandy, Miguel “Fuego” Duran a.k.a Fuego, who is a Dominican rapper.

Noted as an extremely talented artist, Jean has received several Grammy Awards, and has reached eight nominations, including those received at the Golden Globes Awards. He is world-known for film soundtracks, ‘Hotel Rwanda’ (2004), ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ (2004), and James Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008).

Pitbull is an American rapper, singer, actor and record producer, known for singles ‘Timber’, ‘Time of Our Lives’ featuring Ne-Yo, ‘The Anthem’ featuring Lil Jon. With stage names including  “Mr. 305”or “Mr. Worldwide”, in reference to bridging the bilingual world and the Miami area code. Pitbull grew up as a first-generation Cuban American in the Miami world of ‘Scarface’ and ‘Miami Vice’ (drug-filled neighborhoods), which heavily influenced his music, lyrics, and dreams. Fuego is signed to Pitbull’s record label, Mr. 305 Inc. also uniting cultures with American hip-hop and Latino music. Together, they released the official remix to ‘Mi Alma Se Muere’, which was an international sensation.

Including production by Miami native Marco Mall, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ paints the real life cultural conflict and street life of Miami. Mall describes the provocative tale of ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ as a “story is about forgiving the past and moving into the future. Even though you see a little bit of violence -- that's reality -- at the end of the day we make sure that we have a positive message,” wrote Christine Dimattei from WLRN.

A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is gritty, raw, and truthful, brings to light Miami’s urban street culture, simultaneously instilling hope that longtime cultural conflicts can be conquered. Featuring its talented and diverse cast, many who have previously witnessed and lived through the on-going feud between the Haitian and Dominican cultures in Miami, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ allows audiences to walk down the Miami streets themselves, wondering which they would choose – love or family?
