Tesla beats earnings expectations, cuts expenses and promises profits

Tesla’s first-quarter loss was narrower than expected, and sales were higher, and to sweeten the pot the company kept its goals for Model 3 production, cut 2018 expense projections, and said it expects to turn a profit in the second half of the year.
