CARLY PAOLI NOMINATED FOR BRIT AWARD

Bedat & CO ambassador Carly Paoli makes shortlist of the Classic BRIT Awards’ first-ever Sound of Classical Poll 2018

Renowned mezzo soprano and Bedat & CO Geneva Global Ambassador Carly Paoli has successfully made the shortlist for the first ever Sound of Classical Poll by the Classic BRIT Awards 2018. This prestigious poll honours and showcases the best and brightest young British talents who are expected to go on to achieve even greater heights in music. Artists chosen for the shortlist are generally aged between 13-30 and have usually made considerable headway already in their respective careers. This year’s stellar lineup of finalists include classical guitarist Sean Shibe and pianist George Harliono and, of course, Carly Paoli.

Having first captured the imagination of audiences even as a young girl, the Mansfield, Nottinghamshire-born Paoli is inspired by the operatic prowess and stage presence of la diva divina, the incomparable Maria Callas. Due to her Italian heritage from her mother’s side, the young Paoli had also spent many summers in Puglia indulging and cultivating her love for music which eventually led to her being schooled at the Royal Northern College of Music before culminating in spotted by the famous producer David Foster. To date, the dazzling talent has performed all over the world, including beside the great tenor Jose Carreras at Windsor Castle in 2016 before HRH the Prince of Wales. Carreras also partnered Paoli once again in 2017 for her debut album ‘Singing My Dreams’. She sang many duets with Andre Bocelli and performed The Brindisi at Verona with legendary Zubin Mehta as conductor.

Bedat & CO Geneva honours women of character and in the three years since Miss Paoli became an Ambassador, she has proved herself to be such a woman. She has sung for HRH The Prince of Wales, and her version of Ave Maria was chosen by His Holiness Pope Francis as the song for his Year of Mercy. Her debut album Singing My Dreams charted at No 2 in Official Classical Charts earning 5* reviews and her concert at Cadogan Hall earned a 4* review from David Mellor in The Mail on Sunday under the headline, Nobody Does it Better.

Carly Paoli said of this prestigious nomination “I had to pinch myself when I found out that I had been nominated for a BRIT award and I have been thanking Lord Jesus ever since I heard the news. When I was appointed a Brand Ambassador for Bedat & CO, I was very honoured that a company founded by a woman for women had paid me such a compliment. This nomination from the Classic BRIT awards is an equally amazing gift.”

The winner of the Classic BRIT Awards’ Sound of Classical Poll will be chosen by an expert panel with the results to be announced later this month. The winner will receive £1,000, which will go towards their music tuition and/or instrument as well as four tickets to the awards ceremony, to be held on 13th June 2018 at the Royal Albert Hall.
