The $4B+ medical courier industry is dominated by 5000+ mom and pop local (regional at best) operators who own a fleet of automobiles or partner with independent contractors to complete medical deliveries.
CourMed is unique to the industry because of it's reliance on it's technology to electronically connect with drivers. CourMed's web-portal and apps manage pickups of medical specimens to reference labs or prescription medications to patient homes/offices via crowdsourced drivers. Through crowdsourcing the deliveries, CourMed is able to share a higher percentage of the delivery fee with their drivers. Accepted CourMed drivers are required to become HIPAA certified prior to delivering medical specimens or prescriptions.
