CENTURY CITY, CALIFORNIA, USA – July 13, 2018 – She’s only 17, but she has packed so many experiences in her young life that she most definitely can be characterized as wise beyond her years. Liana Akmon, a promising singer, songwriter and performing artist, is one of the talents of the late twenty-tens to look out for, having recently completed her first music video for her song Foolish Games on YouTube.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Liana used to write songs for other local artists, seeing as her crippling stage fright, which she fights to this day, prevented her from performing her own work in front of live audiences. It was not until an Instagram video of her performing a song on a loop pedal received thousands of views that Liana gained the courage to pursue her dream of becoming a recording artist. Her journey brought her to Hollywood, where she began to actively pursue interest with major music labels including Universal Music and Atlantic records.
Having shifted through three different school systems in the past 8 months, and traveling extensively between San Francisco and Hollywood, Liana has been under considerable stress – but has managed to balance her career and personal life with poise and grace.
While she is still discovering herself and is in the process of honing her artistic talents, Liana has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Writing on a variety of subjects, which range from love to heartbreak; loss, and grief, Liana has been inspired by major events in her life, which include her parents’ divorce; a close friend’s suicide, and the death of another friend’s dad. Highly autobiographical and refreshingly candid, Liana’s music has the hallmarks of a blossoming songwriter that has what it takes to claim a spot next to her most prominent peers.
A true perfectionist, Liana has commented that her first music video “could have been better”, and as such has been rehearsing with Nicki Minaj’s Choreographer CoCo Natsuko and Rob Vinson (of Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, etc.) to let her star power shine through her second music video, filming this month.
Audiences can expect Liana’s first record release by the end of August of this year.
