How to Energize Students and Incentivize Educators

Developing creative solutions to the issues that have plagued modern-day educators, EdTech innovator Leap With Alice has formally partnered with Portugal’s University of Algarve, working with their MILAGE Project and the MILAGE LEARN+ app. This partnership will deliver free educational resources across the globe, allowing educators to create powerful content that has been enhanced by emerging technology (such as augmented reality and machine learning).

The MILAGE Project has built a community of partners, including universities and schools located in Norway, Spain, Turkey and Portugal. This developed network of educators and students will be the first to engage Leap With Alice’s free creation tools; enhancing content and cultivating a more immersive learning experience. The MILAGE LEARN+ platform is building a community of teachers that create content according to their specific needs, which is made available (for free) to all students. The University of Algarve is launching pilot projects with schools in the United States, using Portuguese and Spanish content for the learning of second languages, as well as training teachers in the use of the MILAGE LEARN+ platform to create new content for U.S. curriculum.

The MILAGE LEARN+ free app was developed to enhance learning for all students using mobile devices. It implements a pedagogical model that includes gamification to motivate students. It promotes a more interactive, student-centered learning environment with diversified materials and feedback, including educational videos for all students. The MILAGE LEARN+ app also promotes students' autonomy through a scheme of self- and peer-assessment. With the MILAGE LEARN+ app, all students have access to a common knowledge base of quality.
