Hollywood, Sep 12, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - It has been reported by there are literally hundreds of film editors living within each square mile of Los Angeles, CA. With so much talent residing in the Entertainment Capital of the World, it takes extraordinary ability in filmmaking to make a movie editor stand out. Weiyang Li, a recent face on the film scene, has become one of the most popular new editors in the industry. He has earned a high level of success with several recent productions including A Childs Voice, a movie about child trafficking, and is now headed to yet another major film festival with his newest achievement: Wednesday Night Youre Leaving on an Airplane.

Li was sought out by established Hollywood director Mengfang Yang and producer Yixia Li because he brings something fresh and new to the art of filmmaking. Yixia Li, who has had many films selected in several Oscar-qualifying film festivals, brought Weiyang Li on board Wednesday Night Youre Leaving on an Airplane and hopes this newest production will bring the entire team back to the place of his last festival successes at Dances with Films, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and LA Shorts International Film Festival. Yixia has faith that Weiyang Li is the perfect choice for editor.

We have worked together on many projects and were lucky to bring him on board as the editor for Wednesday Night Youre Leaving on an Airplane, says Yixia Li. Not only does he have the eyes to pick the best performances, he also has the heart to truly care about the issue that the film is dealing with. He devoted many of his personal emotions into the film, and through his editing, he makes the film a very touching work.

Wednesday Night You're Leaving On An Airplane tells the story of a Chinese college girl who must leave the United States because her visa expired and she failed to obtain a new one. She has to say goodbye to the city and boyfriend she loves before she departs on an airplane.

The decision to work on this project was difficult because the story is similar to the fear I face every day in my life as a filmmaker residing here in the U.S. from another country, said editor Weiyang Li. What happens in the movie has happened to my friend and could happen to me and that is why I felt compelled to take on this project. When I face my own fear, I feel the pain of the films characters deeply. And so, with every cut I made, I strived to help audiences feel for the characters too.

Born in China, his first films achieved positive reviews and this encouraged him to come to the United States to learn from the best...and be one of them. Now, with several achievements in film, Li has been sought after by numerous movie productions in Hollywood.

Wednesday Night Youre Leaving on an Airplane will be screened Oct. 6th, at the On Location New Filmmakers Film Festival on Sunset Las Palmas Studios. Learn more about the official screening of this film at https://www.newfilmmakersla.com/onlocation/.
