Many authors struggle for years to discover the secret of turning their books into a profitable venture. On Wednesday evening, September 26th, three San Antonio authors will share their secrets to becoming of a successful author, and how they were able to leverage the publication of a book to build a strong personal and professional brand and business platform.

San Antonio authors Lionel Sosa, Diana Barris Trevino, and Diane Huth will join forces on a panel discussion to share the insights gained from their own publishing experiences, both through traditional publishing and self publishing.

The three authors each write in different non-fiction fields, with publishing experiences going back to 2006, and have experienced first hand the transformation of the publishing industry through the rapid shift to self-publishing facilitated by print-on-demand technology.

Lionel Sosa is a leading voice in the US Hispanic market, recognized by Time Magazine as “One of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America”. He is a recognized portrait artist, advertising executive, and was the founder of the largest Hispanic advertising agency in the U.S. Sosa is an acknowledged expert in Hispanic consumer and voter behavior, and was recognized by the American Marketing Association as one of the three Godfathers of Hispanic Marketing, which is memorialized at the Smithsonian. He is the best-selling author of Think & Grow Rich, a Latino Choice, The Americano Dream – How Latinos Can Achieve Success in Business and in Life, and Children of the Revolución, which became a PBS series. He is the founder of YesOurKidsCan.org, and is in the process of writing a new book which he will discuss at the event.

Diana Barrios Trevino is a recognized chef, Mexican food expert, and author of best-selling Los Barrios Family Cookbook: Tex-Mex Recipes from the Heart of San Antonio. The Barrios family owns three nationally acclaimed restaurants in San Antonio, Los Barrios, Hacienda de los Barrios, and Viola’s Ventanas, and both the restaurants and Trevino often are featured on national television. The book was introduced on The Today Show, and remains a best-selling cookbook. Trevino is often featured on leading cooking shows, and hosts the culinary stars whenever they visit San Antonio, the capital of TexMex cuisine.

Diane Huth is a marketing and branding expert, and became known as The Accidental Career Coach when she launched her Amazon best-selling career guide BRAND YOU! To Land Your Dream Job in 2016. She is an adjunct professor at both Texas A&M University San Antonio and University of the Incarnate Word, where she teaches marketing, branding, and career development classes. She is launching her newest book, REINVENT YOUR CAREER – Beat Age Discrimination to Land Your Dream Job, at this event.

According to Huth, “I didn’t want my book launch to be boring and self-serving, so I chose to give attendees the gift of hearing from two of our most beloved authors, who are the real experts in the subject of book marketing. I am extremely pleased to showcase these leading San Antonio icons, and to allow us all to learn from their successful journey marketing both their books and their acclaimed businesses.”

The evening event features a buffet dinner, book signing and networking, and other local authors are invited to display their own books as part of the conversation.

The dinner event will take place at SMOKE BBQ+Beer+Venue restaurant, located at 1170 E. Commerce, across from Sunset Station, in downtown San Antonio. Attendees will enjoy a sumptuous barbecue dinner and cash bar. The dinner cost is $20 payable at the door to the restaurant.

Neetworking starts at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner at 6:00 p.m, and the panel discussion will run from 6:30 – 7:30, followed by questions, networking and a book signing.

Representatives from The Twig Book Shop will sell the authors’ books, which can be autographed on site. The panel discussion will be livestreamed starting at 6:3 o,m, on Facebook Live.

The event is hosted by a nonprofit Meet Up Group, Build Your Brand with Your Nonfiction Book, a coalition of local authors, marketers and business owners, and the public is invited to attend.
