Despite withering criticism of the trilateral trade deal, the Trump administration late Sunday announced that the NAFTA free trade zone covering the U.S., Canada and Mexico will remain largely intact, with a new name and some key updates. Both Canada and the U.S. agreed to important concessions in the last ditch deal to salvage the trilateral trade pact with Mexico, rescuing a three-country, $1.2 trillion open-trade zone that Trump had threatened to upend after nearly a quarter century.
