IDC and Boxxle (along with Alfa Laval, The Aran Group, and Goglio) are members of the recently formed Alliance for Aseptic Foodservice™ (AAF™). The AAF™ mission is to offer the food and beverage industry a turnkey, large-format aseptic packaging solution for foodservice, a sector that lacks a large-size aseptic packaging option. While foodservice represents approximately 50% of global food and beverage consumption, less than 5% of aseptic packaging is utilized in foodservice today. The IDC/Boxxle system to be presented at Pack Expo intends to bring the AAF™ concept to light in an appealing way and inspire the industry to “Tap Into Something Bigger”.

Ingeniously compact, simple to use, and maintenance free, the new stainless Boxxle unit designed for IDC and the AAF™ is equipped with a touch screen from which the end-user can prominently display anything it wants, from brand name to product type, while controlling temperature and monitoring usage data. Easy to program and re-program, the units are silent and smart, provide a consistent flow from beginning to end, and guarantee virtually 100% product evacuation. The new Boxxle design can be scaled to handle the full spectrum of aseptic bag sizes (3 to 20 liters) for foodservice.

IDC’s The Answer®, the world’s only aseptic dispensing tap, can dispense UHT liquids from a large-format flexible package while keeping the remaining contents shelf-stable for an extended period (weeks/months) without the need of refrigeration or preservatives. Marrying The Answer® with the Boxxle represents a highly compelling solution for aseptic foodservice, and one that lends itself to a large variety of applications.

“We are delighted to have Boxxle as the official dispenser for IDC and the AAF™, and honored to be at Pack Expo with Georgia Pacific Bleached Board,” said IDC Chairman Greg Abbott. “We intend to open people’s eyes and capture their imaginations as to the real possibilities in aseptic foodservice. People admire the simplicity of the Boxxle units and the elegance of our total solution, and recognize the significant opportunity our system represents to conquer the largely untapped market of aseptic foodservice.”
