Menlo Security, a leader in malware isolation, today announced that it has joined the Palo Alto Networks® NextWave Partner Ecosystem, a community of world-class security experts and leaders providing a new approach to security to make breaches a thing of the past. The partnership integrates the Palo Alto Networks Security Operating Platform with the Menlo Security Isolation Platform to provide joint customers with another technique to eliminate the risk of exploitations and further combat these threats as part of a defense in depth approach.
Rather than try to distinguish between safe and potentially harmful content, the Menlo Security Isolation Platform isolates and executes all web content, email links and documents in the cloud, then streams a malware-free version of the content to employees’ computers via Menlo’s patented Adaptive Clientless Rendering™ (ACR) technology, with a completely native experience.
Isolation is drawing increasing interest as an effective tool to de-weaponize the web. According to a report from research firm Gartner Inc., “Gartner estimates that organizations isolating internet web browsing will experience a 70% reduction in attacks that compromise end-user systems1.” The report continued, “By 2022, 25% of enterprises will adopt browser isolation techniques for some high-risk users and use cases, up from less than 1% in 2017.”
With Menlo Security’s Isolation Platform, Palo Alto Networks customers steer potentially dangerous web traffic to Menlo’s Isolation Platform, executing all active content away from users’ PCs and other endpoint devices, while providing a transparent user experience and preserving the overall security status of the enterprise. The Menlo Security Isolation Platform also integrates the Palo Alto Networks WildFire® cloud-based malware analysis service, to protect against unknown malware in the event a document or file needs to be downloaded from the web. When a user accesses a website via the Isolation Platform, any downloads are analyzed by WildFire and the download is allowed or denied to reach the endpoint based on WildFire’s verdict.
