Production on Tesla's solar roof, key to Musk's grand vision, is delayed

The solar roof project comes out of Tesla's $2.6 billion acquisition of solar installer SolarCity in 2016. It represents a key piece of Musk's vision of Tesla not just as an electric carmaker, but as a company that will entirely transform consumer energy usage.
