Icelandair scraps plan to buy struggling rival WOW Air

Icelandair called off its acquisition of fellow Icelandic carrier WOW Air, calling into question the latter's future. WOW Air had expanded with no-frills fares across the Atlantic in recent years but struggled in the cash-struggling airline business, particularly after fuel prices rose.
